Where is the best place to host and build a website?

February 14th, 2012 8 comments
A frequently-asked question:

Where is the best place to host and build a flash website? I checked out every hosting site and their reviews. However, I still can’t decide on which is the best. Everysite site has tons of good and bad things. Basically my main concern is having a great web designer. I could honestly care less about the CPanel, and SQL Server base and all. All, I want is a good site that’s around or less a month, and has a great web builder that supports custom HTML (for embedding objects and all) If it comes with a free domain on registration that’s a plus. Now out of these, which do you think is the best. Ipage, Justhost, sitecube, or bluehost. or anther.

oh btw, I’m not creating a business site, I’m creating a video and radio stream site, I’m useing wix.com but I want to change it to another one and I want eye popping graphics with flash.

confused|cheap cpanel hosting A frequently-asked question:

Need hosting 99% uptime, free, with cpanel, support php, mysql databases, the best that you find at least with 10 GB. No other awnsers than the hosting recommendation please. Example, no “google it” because I want it from your own experience.

No ads on the website, i.e ad-free hosting is required.

A frequently-asked question:

I have a website and my own cpanel. now the problem is my friend wants me to host her but i don’t really know how it works. she bought a domain name from godaddy.com . I tried the add on domain feature but it showed up this error

Error from park wrapper: Using nameservers with the following IPs: 216.69.185.20,208.109.255.20 Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver.

How do I backup a website/databases? (10 points best answer)?

September 11th, 2011 2 comments

A frequently-asked question:

I have a phpbb forum website, which I host with HostGator. I am moving to HyphyHost. I’ve moved regular html websites before through ftp, thats pretty simple, just download the files to my computer, then reupload them. But for this site, I have members and a mysql database. I read that you have to backup your database, but I dont know how to do it. I logged in to cpanel, and found where it says "Backup Wizard – Create a Full backup", but I dont know what to do after that, or where the backup goes, and I dont know what to do with the backup once its created. How do I upload it or set it up on the new host (the new host has cpanel too)?

Its asking me for the following info, and I dont know if I have to fill it all in or what:
Backup Destination: (Choices: Home Directory, Remote FTP Server, Secure Copy)
Email Address:
Remote Server (FTP/SCP only):
Remote User (FTP/SCP only):
Remote Password (FTP/SCP only):
Port (FTP/SCP only):
Remote Dir (FTP/SCP only)
I have phpadmin, how do I use it to back up things?

I need (almost) unlimited hosting?

A frequently-asked question:

Hello!

I have a small web design company. I offer my clients the whole deal, I setup everything for them because these are mostly small businesses that don’t have much web knowledge.

So I setup the hosting, e-mails, design a website and upload it, I do everything, so they don’t have to know anything about cpanel, ftp, e-mail etc.

So far I’ve been using a hosting company that I’m not satisfied with anymore, especially their support.

I am now looking for a hosting company that would offer me hosting of approximately 100 websites on one account.

Can someone please suggest any hosting company. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Thanks and best,
Luffy

Who is the best free host out there today?

September 9th, 2011 4 comments

A frequently-asked question:

Not a blog site like blogger, or wordpress (.com at least), a true free host…
That allows all kinds of scripting, without payment or forum posts. Preferably, with cPanel or DirectAdmin, with Fantastico or similar autoinstaller for wordpress and the like.
Any good free hosts that fit these criteria?

I’ve used namepad before, but unfortunately, they don’t accept sign ups anymore and I removed my previous account.

Thanks.
And FTP. Must have FTP.
First answerer: I never mentioned any problems with subdomains. I never said I wanted a domain. lrn2read

I want to create a simple website but am not sure how to go about it, what is the best way?

A frequently-asked question:

Here is what I have got so far. A domain name and a host with Cpanel and all the jazz that comes with it. I also have AdobeDreamweaver but I am not sure if it is the best way to go just yet as I have limited knowledge of HTML.

What I have done so far is made a background/layout in GIMP (simply painted/drawn) which is what I want to have as the background for my simple 1-page website/index page. On top of this I want to add text which will be able to be picked up by search engines etc etc

What is the best way to add this text? I’ve tried using Dreamweaver by creating an HTML doc and then setting my image as the background Image but inserting the text on the <body> of the HTML using <p> tags is not fulfilling my requirements.

Please point me in the right direction in either creating textboxes in dreamweaver or free software which will allow me to do this.

Thanks.
When I try
insert–>form–>Text Field.
I can’t format the box how I would like either.

I have done research lol. I envy you when it comes to wasting your own time with petty little responses when people are simply asking for help.
